2013 Annual Spring Banquet

The Lawrence County Historical Society is hosting their annual Spring Banquet Friday evening the 26th of April at the Smithville Community Center.

Festivities start at 6:30. Tickets are $10.00 for the meal which will be catered by the local Home Demonstration Club ladies. Let any member know of your intent to attend and pay at the door.

The session will feature an overview of planning for the 200th birthday of our county which comes in 2015. We hope to showcase our county’s long and storied past and have each county and community featured in the Bi-Centennial events.

We’d like to have a representative from every community in the present county present if possible. And, if you live in one of the over 40 counties (Missouri & Arkansas) formed from the original Lawrence County we’d like to meet and talk to you.

You may join the Society for $20.00 annually which entitles you to receive copies of our Journal and other publications. Copies of our Mother Of Counties Family History book will be available as well though the supply is running short so get yours before it is too late.

The public is encouraged to attend and share ideas on how to best celebrate our 200th birthday. The Mother of Counties is older even that the territory of Arkansas (1819) and the state (1836).

RSVP to info@lchsar.org or any LCHS officer.
